Following our food adventure last weekend, Hubby and I visited the Motorsports Model Collectibles at Delfi Orchard cos the store and its affable owner were featured in the newspapers as a shop that made more than $100k over the F1 weekend (the article's at <http://www.asiaone.com/Business/News/SME%2BCentral/Story/A1Story20081006-91944.html>).
There, we came across a cartoonish version of F1 cars, made in the form of a sort of bust (the storekeeper called it a paperweight cos the base is totally flat) which we later learnt was a by a famous cartoon artist named Jim Bamber. Check out some of his creations:
We didn't see so many of these at the store, but there were enough to get us interested cos his creations look really adorable. I'm not so much a fan of toy cars but this one's so cute that even I have to say I was amused when I saw it and also inclined to get it. And here's what we eventually bought:
Hehe, cute eh? This one definitely caught our eye also cos Hubby's so into Alonso and Renault these days. And the car plus racer are both chubby and with the 2 little dots on the helmet as eyes, it just makes the racer look so fun to own. Haha. And cos of this latest acquisition, Hubby went to set aside a little section in the display cabinet for all his F1 Renault collections:
PS. Congratulations to Alonso once again for winning the Japanese Grand Prix right after the Singapore one! ;)
