Hmmm...under thought construction...shall be unveiled by the first day of 2009... in my new blog! Yeah, that's right! New blog page in the process! Heehee...
"The Wednesday Letters" by Jason F. Wright. The story begins with a loving elderly couple passing away in each other's arms. It was later discovered by their grown-up children that when their father was alive, he wrote a letter to his wife every Wednesday, hence the title. From the letters, the children discover clues to a shattering family secret, which will change their lives forever. This is a story of love and forgiveness. Easy but engaging read so far. :)
I'm recently enjoying...
a compilation of swing band music, "Hooked on Swing". Yep, that describes me now all right. After watching the Japanese film, "The Swing Girls", on Okto the other night, we became interested in swing bands. Everything sounds groovy, and when I listen to the tracks, especially "Sing, Sing, Sing (with a Swing)" and "In The Mood", my spirits are lifted immediately. No prizes for guessing what my phone's current ringtone sounds like!
A DVD I strongly recommend is...
"Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind". Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet play the leading roles of a couple who are totally opposite in personality but fall in love with each other. There comes a point when they can't take each other anymore and decides to end their frustrations by erasing the other party from their minds through a high-tech procedure. As 'Jim Carrey' undergoes the 'operation', he suddenly realises how insanely in love with 'Kate Winslet' he is. So begins a journey of trying to find the woman he loves once again and escape having her being erased from his mind -- and life-- forever. Also stars other famous people like Kirsten Dunst and Elijah Wood. I only managed to fully appreciate it at the end of the film, but when I finally did, it left me pondering about life and relationships. Pretty good message sent across. :)
I've been tackling...
"Trauma Centre 2" on my Nintendo DS Lite. I completed the first one quite some time ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. My first ever ambition when I was a very young kid was to be a doctor, but I'm kinda scared of blood, so this game allows me to carry out what I don't have the guts to in real life...haha. Really feels like a doc when I play this game. Every operation is important, and you've gotta operate AND race against time too. Cool game. ;)
